My dealings with this firm is that they are virtually useless and totally dishonest.
They used a completely incompetent 3rd party firm to arrange for the search fees to be conducted. They then lied about what this firm had done and were only caught out by information provided to me by the council. This ended up costing me more money to get the search fess carried out in a reasonable time which Grindleys would not cover and rather shirked the responsibility to the 3rd party firm and took no responsibility.
The majority of the time you do not even get to speak to the person dealing with your case and rather you speak to an assistant, or an assistant of an assistant who never provided any useful info and just string you along until you get off the phone. If you try to email them you will not get a response any time soon.
I am surprised that the staff have the required training and qualifications to be solicitors, as the level of professionalism and service i experienced was diabolical.

Absolutely incredible service from Vicky Simms & her team- Could not fault. Very good value for the service received. I was kept fully informed, Vicky was very prompt and patient in responding to my numerous queries and made the process as easy as it could have been.
I will certainly be using again in the future and would highly recommend to all.

Poor communication and slow - tools months to sort house sale and we were not even in a chain! Avoid the stress and hassle and go elsewhere.

We have had such a fantastic experience using Grindeys Solicitors. Our paralegal Sara was fantastic throughout. She was extremely pro-active, helpful and went above and over to get things completed and pushed for things to get done when we were encountering difficulties and delays higher up the chain.
We would not have been able to get things sorted within the specific time frame if its was not for Sara’s contribution to all of this, she certainly put he other paralegals/conveyancers from other firms to shame within the chain as their communication and organisational skills were not great. Sara was the one who consistently pushed for things to get done she stayed organised, up to date and communicated to everyone concerned fantastically throughout. If all conveyancing firms operated the way Sara did then moving would certainly be a much more stress free experience. She made it an exciting journey, she has not only been fantastic throughout the whole process and amazing at carrying out your job but also a lovely person.
It has been lovely experience buying a house, her willingness always put us at ease. Purchasing our first home was a massive step for us in our lives and we will certainly never forget how well she communicated with us and how comfortable she made the process by just keeping us in the light and doing everything she could to push things forward in such a friendly manner.
If you are ever in doubt about what firm to use for your conveyancing needs then I honestly cannot recommend this company enough. Thank you for everything :)

I don't recommend them. The receptionist was rude. After transferring me to the particular solicitor, they simply won't answer your phone or never reply to voicemails. After a few days found out that she was simply away and no one let me know. I think I'll better sort by myself as this service is a waste of time.

Buying our first home was incredibly eased by Sara and Rhiannon who kept us updated through every step of the purchase with great advice and quick answers to our queries. Everything was explained thoroughly, though being first time buyers we didn't necessarily take it all in at once but both were extremely patient and made us feel comfortable to ask any questions we had. There were no hidden costs, which since speaking to people who have used firms other than Grindleys seems to be extremely rare. We cannot thank you enough for the service provided, will continue to recommend!

I cannot recommend enough! Victoria Simms was an example of professionalism. An extremely thorough job that unearthed important details that saved me potential problems. Constant support, as was needed to calm the nerves of a first-time buyer. Regular and punctual communication, always heard back the same day/ next morning. You definitely get a good return on the fees.

She is fast, professional and always accommodating the necessary and urgency of our situations.
She has always replied to my emails within 24 hours and did her best to assist me.

I have received an excellent service from Vicki and Louise, who were very efficient and professional during the buying and selling of my property. The sale of my property was complicated due to the involvement of a housing association and my buyers solicitor - Louise was both courteous and tenacious, managing to sort the issue for me. I would highly recommend their services.

Grindeys were recommended by our Mortgage Advisor; I understand why - Vicky and her assistant Louise were really helpful and polite. It was a lengthy sale, due to the complexity of shared ownership and queries on the buyers side and there was a lot of to-ing and fro-ing but both Vicky and Louise were extremely patient and helpful throughout the process and didnt seem to mind our frequent contact. It was great that by making a couple of recommendations too, they saved us money! Just received a stamp duty refund that we weren't expecting, so that's another plus point!
We were first time sellers so couldn't really compare costs but we believe the fees were reasonable, especially when you considered the work involved in our sale.
We will definitely use Grindeys again; we have already recommended them to friends of ours who I believed successfully completed on their sale in December!

Avoid this firm like the plague. Terrible is my opinion I would rather do it myself next time. Hidden charges is an understatement. Lack of communication is also a problem. Choose a different firm is my opinion.

In Grindeys, Sharon Green took my case for buying a property. She and Rebecca , were really professional and resolved the paperwork in the best time possible. When calling or asking for information or updates I got a fast and honest reply. I did not even meet her, everything was done via email, phone and post. Paperwork all delivered first class via post. She sent clear instructions and warned us if it was the case. Quote up front , all the fees included, no hidden costs, a list with additional fees was received with welcome package, so very transparent.She was really flexible when a change occurred and she reacted really fast if something needed to be done asap. Really competitive quote, and the service is 5*. I would recommend her service at any time to anyone. Thank you Sharon and Grindeys.

I am not sure why there are negative reviews as we received an excellent service from start to finish. Sharon and her team were used to deal with a sale and purchase and the whole process was as smooth as we could have expected. We were provided regular updates (email/letters) and Sharon and her team were more then helpful in answering any queries over the phone.
I would highly recommend Sharon and her team in particular and hope to use Grindeys again in the future.

As a mortgage broker I recommend other services to my clients and rely on them to provide a standard as high as my own. After being directed to them by another broker, my customers have been very happy with the service, prices and efficiency. One excellent area is that the direct dial number of the acting solicitor is provided, avoiding the need to explain the full situation and wait for a callcentre staff to read up on the notes every time you phone.
They dealt with my sons sale and purchase recently and kept him fully informed and up to date.
This was despite the sellers solicitor provided a terrible service.

Senior partner is also a partner in O'Neill Patient, yet they do not tell you this possible conflict of interest. Staff leaving in the bucket loads from both firms due to low wages and excess hours (im talking 60+ hrs a week for under £23K pa for a qualified solicitor) No wonder mistakes happen
