This is company that you SHOULD AVOID at any price. They are not helping you at all and they are extremely rude and without skills. They don't reply emails, phone call or anything.
It will be just wasting your money working with them!

Appaling client service. Just contact for the first as i need a good quailty Soclictor as i am buying a proper. And had be reccomented the business. And the repception. Was as about as unhelpful as possible. And seem put out that i was asking to pass my equaire on. And told its company plocy that i can only communcaite by email. ( i have a hidden diability, so other option are need and should be able to make all service acceassiable for all ). Also so felt like she just could be bothered. As i asked to expalin and o got answer to question i nevr asked. And could justif the postion or explain in detail why email is the only to communcaite with the business. Which it very unfriendly, feel like a tick box process and not put new clinet first. All i wanted to do is speak with someoen to and discuss with Humphrey and do Q&A about the service and if the business can help. And want me as a client. Its clear the repcetist has been this for a while. Which raise red flag if they are decide how the client is dealt. I wondering if the CEO has signed off on this process. Or is something the recpception.

I don't think it too much to phone a solictor and ask to speak with somoene about the service provide. And if i want o give my hard earn monies. Very diappointitng.

I think it a sure sign of howthe business work and run. And treat the clinet and they monies the bring to the business.

I am dyslexic. So please excuse the bad spreeling and grammer. And this why i wanted to speak with someone. So no access for people with disaibility.

We have now used Humphreys in the last two years for two sales and one purchase - the service has been excellent on all occasions. This last sale has been ongoing for many months (chain issues below us), and during that time they have been patient, up to speed when necessary and always focused. Our solicitor there changed during the process but to another equally as good. They were proactive - chasing the others in the chain, without my having to ask and were instrumental in the chain finally completing. Have also recommended them to others who have been equally happy - would use them again without hesitation.

Many thanks for your kind words here, which we have just spotted and which will be greatly appreciated by our team. It's good to hear that this transaction is perceived to have gone well at your end.

Transactions in property law are complex, because property law is complex, which is often not appreciated, and there can be difficulties, particularly in relation to title, addressing which can cause elapses of time.

Our team always advises and act in the best interests of our clients, whether they are buying or selling, independently, and we do our best to explain complexities in clear language in all our reports to clients on the transaction.

Thank you again for this.

My brother and I used Humphreys and Co for sale of a shared ownership stake in London that we jointly owned. Worth noting that we had a pretty woeful experience with a different solicitor during the purchase (recommended via the shared ownership website) so were hoping for a better experience with the sale. My partner was selling her own shared ownership at the same time which allowed me to compare the differences with a third solicitor firm.
Humphreys were streets ahead of the others. Right at the start they provided a lengthy email detailing the process, steps, and timelines. None of the others did, and it immediately meant we were better informed. The timelines inevitably slipped (they were a little optimistic from the start) but as far as I could tell, not because of Humphreys. Indeed, I think it was our solicitor keeping the pressure up on the buyers that meant we got the sale through. Our solicitor did change mid-way through, but we found Bonny to be even more responsive and helpful than her predecessor. She responded very promptly to emails, and when we didn't understand something she took the time to explain. Honestly she made the process a lot smoother than it could otherwise have been, and for that I am immensely grateful.
Clearly can't speak for the whole firm, but would very highly recommend Bonny, and would definitely use Humphreys again.

It's good to hear this positive feedback on the transaction, and thank you for this. Our team all work very hard for our clients in every case. Some transactions are more difficult than others, often for reasons which are team cannot control, such as defects in property title and needing documentation in from 3rd parties who have competing interests, and it's good to hear that in this case your objectives as clients were met.

For nearly three years I was embroiled in a particularly stressful case of construction law where my wife and I were the claimants.

I am not at liberty to discuss the matter through confidentiality agreements but can confirm that yesterday at an official mediation attended by 10 participants including the mediator, the matter was fully resolved to our expectation.

This was a complicated matter and even although I have been a relatively successful businessman for over 45 years with various companies still under my belt, nothing would have prepared me for the barrage of untruthful statements the defendants were claiming as true to defend themselves.

I knew that I wanted a firm that had a specialist construction department and Humphreys were that ideal firm. They held our hands throughout and their expertise was exceptional. Throughout this long matter which was dragged out by the defendants insurers, they kept us sane and focused.

They will now be our solicitors of choice for the foreseeable future (for all of their different areas of expertise) and I would like to take this opportunity to thank their partners, Paul Wong and Robert Humphreys for their ultimate knowledge and patience eventually leading to our success. A brilliant team.

Many thanks for these kind words, which we have just noticed. Litigation is always very fraught for the parties engaged in it, with their differing objectives, and this was a heavy case. It's very pleasing to hear that you have considered the outcome to be positive. In any litigation it's often the case that one party is disappointed with the result, and where a compromise is reached then often both parties, as neither really fully got what they wanted. In this case it was a long, hard battle, but a satisfactory result was achieved from your perspective, and that's good to hear.

Utterly awful service. Rude and abrupt when you do get through to speak to your solicitor. Didn't reply to questions for over 4 weeks at one point. The only thing they were quick and efficient at was getting a deposit upfront.

Really wouldn't recommend.

We are sorry to read this and have looked into it, although it seems a pity that you have posted this when during the transaction you did not at any point complain or express concerns as to service levels.

You were selling your existing property and purchasing a new property, so completion of the 2 transactions had to be simultaneous. The sale progressed and was ready to exchange in November 2017, but the person selling to you through their solicitors was slow and you pulled out of that transaction having found another property to buy.

We received details of the new property you wanted to buy on 15.11.17. We confirmed our instructions to seller’s solicitors the same day. We received draft contract pack from them on 22.11.17. Searches were ordered on 24.11.17 and enquiries were raised of seller’s solicitors on 28.11.17. Results of searches arrived on 4.12.17 and we sent you our report on these on 7.12.18. We raised with seller’s solicitors further enquiries arising from the search results the same day.

We prompted seller’s solicitors to reply to enquiries during the remainder of December but they said they were unable to deal as their priority was other pre-Christmas completions. We received replies to some enquiries (not all) on 10.1.18. This is perhaps the one month elapse of time that you have referred to. This though was not down to us.

On 16.1.18 we sent seller’s solicitors a summary of the replies to enquiries still needed from them. They replied on 18.1.18. They sent draft building regulations indemnity policy for approval on 30.1.18 and we replied approving this the same day. All material now covered, we drafted an extensive report on title to the property you were buying and sent it to you with a bundle of documentation, including documents to sign, on 5.2.18. We received the signed original documents back from you on 9.2.18.

At this point we were ready to exchange contracts on this purchase for you, save that a completion date needed to be agreed between you and the seller for insertion into the contract. Correspondence went to and fro trying to agree a completion date, the difficulty being that one of the sellers was elderly and needed plenty of lead time after exchange to remove specialist equipment of a medical support nature from the property.

Contracts were exchanged on both your sale and your purchase on 19.2.18 with completion agreed by all sides for 9.3.18.
Once contracts were exchanged, you were legally obliged (as always) to move out of your existing property on the completion date.

Completion of sale and purchase on the due date took place without difficulty, but unfortunately for you 9 March was a day of very heavy snow in Bristol, the deepest snowfall in very many years, and most of the roads in Bristol were impassable or closed. As a result, your removal company were unable to attend to move your belongings out of your existing property into your new property.

You asked us whether you were able to delay moving out but we had to advise you that your contract required you to move on that day. We do not know whether you able to come to an accommodation with your buyers, who themselves will have needed to move out of their property on the same day, but sympathise as to the difficulties you must have had on that day by reason of the extreme weather conditions.

We cannot see that our conduct of your purchase (on which your sale depended, as this had to exchange on the same day) was anything other than speedy. Nor we have to say can we be reasonably criticised for the weather conditions on 9 March.

The above explains what happened, although we would have preferred to address any concerns, if they were to have been expressed at the time, direct rather than through this medium.

The service from the first interaction up to the completion of the sale was absolutly 1st class. Proatvicely updating at every stage, patient with every query. There were no hidden costs - what they quoted was what we paid. The price was very competitive. We were first time buyers and our experience with Humpherys & Co was great. 100% recommend.

I haven't actually instructed them to take on my case yet, but I would like to say that Mr Siddons, the Partner, has been extremely helpful for my initial enquiries on two occasions now regarding contentious probate and giving me some useful tips and advice over the phone that I needed to follow up before I know what to do next. I haven't actually paid them anything yet because they are not local to me, but if I do need a firm to take up my case officially I would seriously consider choosing them.

We were trying to buy the final share in our shared ownership property, and asked Humphreys to act for us. They were really helpful, answering my questions accurately and really promptly (I always got replies within 24 hours). Unfortunately, the lender messed us around a lot - after saying we should find a solicitor to represent ourselves and the lender, the lender then said that they would have to be represented by their own solicitors. Oh, and that it would cost us extra. We had a deadline, and almost in tears, I spoke to Humphreys, who said they'd look into it. In the end they said it would be quicker and cheaper for us to use the lender's solicitors for everything, and didn't charge us anything for all the time they'd already put in. They passed all the work and documents over to the other solicitors and promptly sent me a refund. They were so nice and helpful and worked in our best interests, rather than chasing their own fees. Maybe we were lucky to have a particularly good solicitor there, but I would definitely recommend them.
