Noel completed on the sale of my Coventry property in November 2023. My priorities were to find someone who was local, had substantial experience and had worked with local estate agents - Noel fit the brief on all counts. The fact Noel's fee is very competitive (under £600) was a bonus - no hidden fees!
There are two things that stand out, and are positives for me. Firstly, I wanted an individual to take responsibility for the process rather than a random selection of people from a large company. Secondly, I didn't want someone who would bombard me with emails and phone calls about nothing of any importance. The service I received from Noel was better than the service I received from the solicitor I used when I sold my previous property. They phoned regularly, for information given in the paperwork I returned if they bothered reading it.
Noel is a pleasant gentleman who I feel has a genuine interest in doing a good job for his client, I would happily use Noel again and recommend his services to others.

Mr Kelly could not have made the process more difficult for us!
We engaged his services following my late father’s passing. It took 3½ months to even get the draft grant of probate from him, which contained several fundamental errors including the deceased’s address and sections not completed. We wrote back to Mr Kelly the same day, highlighting the errors.
A week later we received the revised GoP, still with errors – my email address being incorrect, the deceased’s National Insurance No. being completely wrong, the wrong valuation on the deceased property (I had advised the value in returning the previous GoP draft), my address being wrong (even though corrected on the previous draft GoP) and the deceased’s address still being incorrect.
Mr Kelly advised me to sign the forms and he would make the necessary amendments! To this date I still don’t have a copy of the actual version he issued to the Registry Office.
He also quoted me £170 for the GoP application in Sep 2022, but when we received his bill that amount had been increased to £277.50. He went to great pains to say that it wasn’t his fault and that he’d paid exactly what he’d been charged. The point is that the probate registry fee was increased to £273 on 26 Jan 2022, so when Mr Kelly quoted £170 some 8 months after the price increase, it was never, ever going to be that amount!
When we originally met him, he agreed to write to my sibling but never bothered. He also agreed to check old account books and find out if anything might be owing (for a small additional fee), but again never bothered. I wrote to Mr Kelly at the start of Apr 2023 and asked for those account books to be returned to me, but again thus far he hasn’t bothered.
Phone calls are rarely returned and none of my emails, as I’ve pointed out to Mr Kelly previously, were ever replied to.
Mr Kelly blamed delays on the Probate Registry Office, but said he’d check and come back to me…..he never did. My point was how long it took to even get the application to the Registry Office in the first place.
Suffice to say, we’ve used another solicitor for my father’s house sale. The 2 people you expect to be thorough and accurate in what they do are the person operating on you and you solicitor. It’s a good job Mr Kelly isn’t a surgeon!

Organise my lasting power of attorney, this was carried out with very through professional
Manner,no money was asked for the registration which he had too pay, I settled the the bill
When I received the complete orthorised fully stamped documents. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Had reason to update our Wills and the obvious choice was Noel Kelly as he had drafted our previous documents some years ago. He retrieved the originals from his archive and then provided help and advice in implementing the updates and amendments we required in a timely fashion.
The entire process was smooth, efficient and very professional. Excellent service and at a very reasonable cost and certainly would recommend the practice to others.

I contacted Mr. Noel Kelly after the death of my mother. She died intestate and I needed a solicitor to help me with probate matters regarding her estate.
I found Noel to be very helpful and knowledgeable on these matters. He arranged for the necessary Grant of Letters of Administration so that I could administrate her estate - something I could never have achieved left to my own devices.
He is the only solicitor at his premisies and there are no secretaries pr others to go through berfore speaking with him.
In my dealings with him he was always courteous and explained all the necessary steps I needed to take. He supplied and filled in the requisite forms, etc for my signatures. I cannot fault his services and I would recommend him to anyone.
His charges were reasonable, with no V.A.T. to pay, and he took no upfront monies. I only settled with him once everything had been completed to my satisfaction.

Mr Kelly dealt with the sale of our property in Coventry in a very professional, efficient, yet friendly manner. He kept us appraised of the process every step of the way and we received regular correspondence by both email and letter. His charges, compared to other quotes we obtained were very competitive and overall we have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone who needs a personal but efficient solicitor for any legal work.

We had previously engaged a larger practice and having endured a very poor level of service we decided to look for another firm to handle an amendment to our wills. This proved to be a very sensible decision indeed. The work Noel did for my wife and I, was considerably more proffesional and accurate then we'd experienced with our previous solicitor, and he is an absolute pleasure to deal with on a personal level. He works quickly and accurately, is genuinely pleasant to deal with and his prices are very competitive too. I cannot recommend his services highly enough.

Noel Kelly deserves six stars. He helped us resolve probate and estate planning after my father's death and drafted wills. Mr Kelly is very professional and sympathetic and wears his considerable erudition lightly: any question was answered very clearly and he was able to advise solutions to potential problems. Mr and Mrs Kelly very kindly made a home visit to witness my housebound mother's will.
The fees charged were very reasonable. I would unhesitatingly recommend Noel Kelly and thank him once again for his exceptional service.

I would highly recommend using the services of Noel Kelly.
He is not only very approachable and personable, but also offers a unique and professional service which is almost impossible to find in the legal profession.
The service and advice we received was absolutely first class. Noel fortified us with his wisdom and experience with regards to conveyancing and made the whole stressful process of a difficult house sale almost agreeable.
In order to expedite matters he even called at my home to get documents signed and was always on call to answer any queries.
To conclude, I cannot recommend Noel Kelly highly enough and would gratefully thank him for helping us to a successful conclusion.

My husband and I have just recently used Noel Kelly Solicitor to make joint Wills and also to arrange our Lasting Powers of Attorney. His dealings with us were conducted in a very professional, timely and efficient manner. He is very knowledgeable and offers advice which is based on your needs and does not try to sell you anything that he does not think that you require (which may be the case with larger companies). He is also a very pleasant gentleman to do business with and easily contactable (no secretaries to have to go through first!). His prices are very competitive and I do not have any hesitation in recommending his legal services, which I have already done so to other family members.

I am sorry the reviewer did not find my services up to standard.
I did have difficulty with a parfticular probate matter at this time. Sadly, in that case, the testator's conduct had caused a significant professional ethics problem and, I regret to say, I do not think I was served well by the Law Society's professional ethics team whose advice I followed. If the exact situation were to arise again I would now decline to take instructions.
I would add that over 66% of my work comes from repeat busines and personal recommendations from existing clients. Having said this I am always looking at ways to improve the quality of my service.

I have nothing but praise for Mr Kelly, he has recently handled the sale of our property and could not have made what was a difficult sale easier.
You will get receive a very competitive quote without having to worry about any hidden extras etc.
You will get a personal service, no farming work out to paralegals, and throughout the process I was pleasantly surprised to receive updates and answers to my emails at weekends and outside office hours.
I would have absolutely no issues in recommending and using his services again and he is hidden gem in the world of Coventry conveyancing solicitiors.

Noel Kelly is one of rare professionals who work swiftly and efficiently, who helped with the other solicitor’s negligence (poor service). In contrast to many other solicitors who can only work when they hear soothing rustling of fresh banknotes, Noel can answer quick questions via email without wasting your time making a formal appointment. As a result of his help, the issue was settled.
All in all, Noel works swiftly, efficiently and professionally – highly recommended.

Noel Kelly has been our family Solicitor for over 25 years. I have a shop in Coventry and he recently did the renewal of my shop lease very quickly for me which was very much appreciated by me as I didn't know where to start with forms and Land Registry applications.
