I am very pleased with the service I have received from Tanya and her team.
As the situation with my property sale was a little different from the usual, I went into it feeling a little apprehensive and worried there would be problems, but it was all dealt with very efficiently and I felt complete confidence in Tanya. Conveyancing. Selling our cottage in Morchard Bishop and Buying our new property in Penryn.
Excellent service. Tanya was at all times very courteous and aware of our needs. We went through two buyers who pulled out and also one purchase which also fell through. Tanya was always very understanding. In a year plagued by a pandemic and multiple lock downs and Government restrictions the whole process of selling and buying was very prolonged and stressful. We would have no hesitation in recommending Tanya to others and also from our previous experience in redrafting our wills, no hesitation in recommending Charlesworth Nicholl to others.

The conveyance of my property was actually carried out entirely by Jude Wilson (locum for Andrew Luxton) during two covid lockdowns and working partially from home.......an extremely difficult and challenging time! Despite this the whole process took 17-18wks. I can't pretend that such a long period was not stressful but I did feel that Jude was in this with me which helped enormously when, on my own for the first time in 30yrs, I tried to understand the endless amount of paperwork and information that had to be dealt with. Thank you Jude.

This would have been a complicated chain in normal times. Operating in lockdown and with the added pressures of the stamp duty holiday only added to the pressures on Tanya. Nevertheless she quickly gained our trust early on with a professional but human approach that overcame the normal process of not being able to deal face to face. We never doubted her advice even when it warned that our purchase might be put at risk by legal shortcomings in the title. Tanya was a major factor in us completing our move and we are very grateful.

It’s Lockdown but making our new Wills with Debra couldn’t have been easier using video calls. Debra quickly got to grips with what we were trying to do, Gave us sound advice and sorted it all out very quickly. Everything was explained carefully together with instructions as to how to get everything signed safely. Really felt valued throughout.

My experience of this firm was not a good one. I , as executor, engaged them in 2017 to deal with the estate of my late mother along with one other executor. During the early stages one of their professionals made a serious error in a tax calculation which resulted in a 12 month battle to obtain money back from HMRC. This ultimately lead to the breakdown of the relationship between myself and the other executor which meant Charlesworth Nicoll withdrew their services due to a conflict of interest. Another firm of solicitors was engaged plus I had to personally engage a litigation lawyer to deal with the breakdown of trust between myself and the other executor which was a direct result of the issues mentioned above. This ultimately cost me personally many thousands of pounds. Charlesworth Nicoll did eventually reimburse the estate with monies accumulated in obtaining the refund of tax incorrectly paid but not my personal fees for the litigation issues. So therefore I would not recommend this firm of solicitors.

Despite some last minute challenges and issues raised by the buyer's solicitors which delayed the transaction, I was always kept thoroughly informed of progress and was confident that Andrew was doing his utmost to resolve the problems in order to complete the transaction.
