26/11/14 - Reviewed by RT LAW - Don't trust them !

If I knew then what I know now I'd have gone all the way to Australia to avoid them. Others people have stated in different reviews how RT Law have been professional, done a good job etc etc etc. That company wants to get as much money from you - The customer - as possible. So every time they call, send letters or fax, either way, and it will be a lot (keeping you in the loop - mmmmm) it costs you your money - and half the time the communications between either parties are not necessary. I instructed this small box outfit to act on my behalf, which they did do for around 3 month (family issues) and totalled a bill of over £1000 !!!. - and still nothing had changed, only the size of RT Laws bank account. Customers should be made aware the the wording in RT Laws documents means that your cheque book is an open one - They claim to have a client account for each customer, and they will only act whilst it's in the black, which technically means 'No funds - No work'. After dealing with RT Law for 3 months I decided to call it a day as I was no longer able to mentally, physically or financially continue the process I was in - RT Law at this point was instructed to stop acting on my behalf. RT Law sent me a receipt of work done, which in turn had already been paid through my Client account. Around 2 weeks later a letter from RT Law dropped on the door mat - it was another bill for work carried out prior to a court hearing. The bill was for a further £500 !!!!! - Client account !!?? No funds - No work !!??. I set about and challenged this. RT Law where contacted but was not interested - the attitude was - work done, pay up. Even when I mentioned about this client account business - Why had they continued to work with no funds in my account - they couldn't answer me - other than it was work that needed to be done so you have to pay!!!! - Client account !!?? No funds - No work - That's what I was told on my first consultation - They shown no sympathy or empathy - they had continued to work technically for free. Trading Standards where contacted and upon them examining RT Laws documents stated that because of how these documents where worded they could charge pretty much what they wanted - within reason. As I was unable to pay they outstanding bill in full at the time, I was taken to court and paid peanuts each month. I could have paid in full shortly after the event - but never the less. They even tried it on by trying to get me to give my partners details (whom I'm not even married to and had only been living with a few months at the time) and get her to pay - Naughty naught!!. I want to share my experience of this company with as many people as possible - Companies like RT Law has to stop. I would absolutely not recommend these to anyone, not even my ex - well maybe.
