Calm under pressure and managed the communication levels to my liking (i.e. precise, straight to the point, all questions answered and unknowns explained in layman's terms). Considering we are entrusting solicitors with their ability to ensure paperwork is legally correct and in order, there were countless of mistakes that my husband and I pointed out. It doesn’t put much faith in the legal stuff, that we might not understand, being accurate!

The phone was rarely answered and on occasion we had to wait days for someone to phone or email us back. The solicitors and estate agents also struggled to speak to anyone.

We had to continually chase for updates. When we did receive our enquiries back they were haphazard and all over the place.

The move was so stressful because of these reasons.

The worst solicitors ever!
Not only wasted two months of my time and also money, but they are doing investigations that have no reasons for!
Bottom line, they failed to close the deal on purchasing a house , I’m left homeless with a newborn, took my money and now they try to blame it on me.
They are rude, can’t handle work, can’t work under pressure, extremely bad when it come to folllowing up - I have to constant,y chase them for answers and most of their employees are not even qualified to do the job.
avoid at all cost!

She dealt with every question and query we had promptly and explained everything that she did every step of the way. The Conveyancing aspect was all dealt with by Case Manager Vicky Nankivell Long @ RG Solicitors in Sidcup. The whole process from having the offer accepted to completion was not without its own complications. However, having Vicky representing us both cannot be underestimated.
She was always available to deal with any questions and did so in a timely manner. There was total confidence in her from start to finish and she was very approachable at all times.

Used RG solicitors service for our house purchase and we are very happy with the service. Never had a problem, we received more than excellent service, Jenny always stood by us and helped us even in moments where it was not really her job. Very organised and quick responding to emails and giving clear information and updates. Even did recommend RG Solicitors to my parents for their remortgage and they also are using them. Very helpful and I highly recommend them.

I have used RG Solicitors twice and will definitely use them again in the future and recommend them to others. The process from making an enquiry to instructing them and being allocated a solicitor was very easy.Faye Bishop was very helpful and professional. Email enquiries were dealt with quickly and I was kept informed of progress at the beginning and just before completion however it would be nice to get an alternative contact during the middle stage as it can be difficult to get in touch by phone during your lunch hour when they are busy and you need more than an email response.

I have just used RG solicitors to help with the legal aspects of selling our property and I would recommend them to others. They were really professional, yet also friendly and were excellent at communicating with us and keeping us up to date on the progress of our sale. In fact I am not sure I had to chase them up once for either information or an update, which was great! All requests and documentation were clear and everything was undertaken on a timely basis.
I don't have much experience to compare to, but I think the costs were reasonable. My only feedback was that some of the information on the quote was not clear which I we I've rated 4 stars not 5.

Chloe and her team at RG Solicitors were welcoming and efficient, professional at all times. RG's charges were comparable to other legal firms (I asked two other solicitors for their charges) but their service was far superior and the unnecessary stress the move generated for myself, my buyers and the couple I bought from was caused by one of those other slicitors.

I would have no hesitation in recommending RG Solicitors to everyone who asks

We moved house only a few days ago and we used RG Solicitors for the sale of our house and the purchase of our new home. The cost was very competitive. We mainly dealt with 2 people from the Sidcup Office, Craig Holgate to begin with on the sale of our property, then Jenny Offord who took over the purchase of our home as it became more complex due to the sellers and their solicitor. I have to say both Craig and Jenny had our interest 1st and did a fantastic job, especially Jenny as she really got the difficult end of the deal, she was always contactable and gave great advice and direction in what turned out to be a very difficult purchase. I would recommend using Jenny Offord and RG Solicitors to anyone.

The worse solicitors we have ever come across. We have used them on someone's recommendation that was so embarrassed after he found out how terrible their service was. Both offices, York and Horsham,all we don was continuous chasing, delays after delays, even the other solicitors and estate agents from the chain above were fed up with our solicitors. On top of all this, on the day of completion they delayed us by 6 hours, they never issued an invoice and when I requested it and checked it, I found out that they overcharged us by nearly £600 that we had to chase and didn't get them back for about 4 weeks. Also, the final invoice was higher than the initial quote. We raised a formal complaint directly with department managers and firm partners and after 7 weeks we still had no resolution.

I used R&G to update my will there solicitor was Nadia Rhoden,she walked me through each step of the way explaining every step.in easy to understand language
Once the will was completed she asked me about probate which I had already taken on board before hand.. I found the service I received from Nadia was xcellent and would not hesitate to recommend you.

From the introductory meeting over fees - they are very transparent & will tell you if there any additional costs. Vicky handled our case brilliantly - her communication was spot on, always kept us informed and always had time for our questions (and as first time buyers - we had lots). worse services, use your money somewhere else

Massively Avoid them,
My broker introduced them to me and I found out their firm is in york while my purchase in London.
Two ladies were in charge Alison Scott and Jennifer Robert , the worse solicitors I ever seen.
Initially they gave me a quote £1300 for one bedroom house worth £250,000.00 .However, later on I found that a friend of mine for a house worth half a million pound paid £1100 to solicitor but it was not end of story.
In the middle of purchase, when you have no other choice, they add so many extra cost to their quote and for me it turn to £2,850.00 plus 4 weeks delay based on what I had been promised. Desperately, I had to pay them as I was under severe stress by delay as I already gave notice to my landlord and I had to move on from the property I was living.In addition,I had to move to friend house , my stuff everywhere and in a word nightmare
No apology by those ladies and when I wanted to complain they left that firm.

We received an amazing service by Kerry Cudworth always kept up to date. We are first time buyers and always had questions which were always answered. Our solicitor looked out for us in some difficult situations we faced but in the end we completed and happy to be in our new home. Thanks RG Solicitors we would most definitely be using you again!!

I used RG Solicitors for the conveyancing on my new build property. My file was handled by Allana Cheema who did an incredible job, efficient and very responsive. When she was unavailable my emails and calls were directed to colleagues who dealt promptly with my queries. Progress of my purchase was logged online so that I could check the general status and finer details were communicated verbally and by email all the way through. Feedback and updates were incredibly easy to get via phone and email.
Overall I received excellent service and Allana was a delight to deal with. I'd recommend to anyone.

My partner and I recently used RG Solicitors for the purchase of our house. Recommended by a friend from a local area, we found the whole experience incredibly easy. Our appointed solicitor, Shona Laird, was great at communicating with us at every step and was always on hand to answer any question. The overall cost for their conveyance service was competitive. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend RG to people in the future. We have also used other solicitors from within the firm for other legal matters and found their service to be as friendly and reliable.

We were recommended to RG Solicitors by our Estate Agent as the property we were selling and the solicitors were both in Sidcup. We felt that a local firm would have first hand knowledge of the area and as there are many leasehold properties, as ours was, in Sidcup we felt sure they would have great experience dealing with this type of transaction. Sadly this was not the case. For some unknown reason our conveyancing was passed to their office in York who obviously had no experience in handling properties where we were selling and the person acting for us was not a solicitor but a Legal Conveyancer. The whole process was extremely lengthy, stressful and unprofessional. We as the client had to continually chase this firm for answers and progress to be made and the delays caused by them almost caused the sale to fall through. Once exchange of contracts took place the errors continued by being charged a mortgage redemption fee when we had no mortgage and our 'solicitor' forgetting to proportion the advanced payment we had made towards the quarterly maintenance charge. Two weeks later having chased and chased for a refund and having various telephone conversations with Adam Chowdhury (Partner) and threatening them with a complaint to the Law Society we have just been refunded one of the over payments but are waiting for the second. No explanations or apologies are forthcoming. As previous comments on this website have suggested, the fee was inexpensive but we would have been very happy to pay a higher feel to avoid the stress and disruption caused by RG Solicitors.

After getting to RG Solicitors lured by the fact they had a local office in Horsham, West Sussex, it then turned out they don't have the capacity and my solicitor was located in York... Then it turned out that from a seemingly simple case the solicitor managed to make quite a stir. Started towards end of March 2015, finally completed end of July 2015! Having to do some of the work ourselves as the solicitor did not keep me in the loop, hardly ever picked up the phone and neglected chasing other parties (only after 4 weeks did she call the other solicitors to ask where are their answers to her queries only to learn they never received them - and she only chased when I chased her...). I had to get the leasehold document myself as she failed to locate it and did not know where to look further (it then turned out it was a document I sent her 2 months before as part of the welcome pack and so I wasted money on the new copy). After exchange she decided to go on holidays until the very day of completion without providing the final accounts, so others did this in her absence causing quite a stir as she did not leave any notes on arrangements and agreements... I had to get the accounts from the authorities as RG Solicitors could not follow through (gave up due to technical glitch at the Council potentially losing days, I got the information in 3 hours - mind you this was an unnecessary exercise only conducted due to the case solicitor being on holidays without leaving hand over notes)... Advice and information on the actual process was beyond negligible. I might have been unlucky (and I think I was), as people attending to matters during her absence were able to do more in a week than she did over months and kept me informed and answered the phone for a change, but this one experience is enough to put me well off RG Solicitors and recommend others to do the same. Completion on the 30th July 2015, I have still not received the final accounts summary. Only received the purchase ones and after chasing them again, this showed I paid for things I should not had as it was agreed for the other party to cover those costs! Still waiting for the sale summary. And I never received the draft contract report that would give me time to review - went straight to the final and not done by her but by her superior as she did not manage to do it on time! I would be fired from my company should my director had to do my work for me... Incomplete assessments, ignoring our queries and survey of the property, mixing up or forgetting information such as preferred completion date set out from the outset, ignoring information on bridging loan arrangements which at the end turned out to be crucial and unacceptable... The nerves and frustration we went through is beyond believe. Not a pleasant experience at all and still facing the aftermath. Should it not be for other parties, mainly the estate agent for the sale, we would not have achieved our goals. Unfortunately the solicitor did not have a fraction of that drive and dedication.

I strongly suggest you do not use RG Solicitors. They were relatively cheap but by the end of a long, painful and frustrating process I would paid any amount to have chosen a firm more up to the job. The sale of our flat took over six months and our purchase almost fell through after it was left to drag on. Issues raised by the buyers' solicitor were left outstanding for months, basic tasks were not completed without a LOT of chasing up, communication was terrible, and the team failed to understand basic property documents, that we had to repeatedly try and explain to them, the legal 'experts'. As things reached a critical level I spent a small fortune on the phone trying to ensure they did understand what needed doing and that they were finally acting on it. The staff were personable but sadly seemed unable to cope with their workload and repeatedly failed to progress the sale, telling us it was not a priority at that point or they did not have time to deal with it. Ultimately, we were so disappointed with the service we received that we would have complained to the regulator, but had spent so long dealing with RG we wanted to forget they ever existed. The icing on the cake was when they initially refused to return several hundred pounds they had retained in case the service charges were in arrears. They were not, but RG had misread the accounts. Something they failed to believe until asking the agents to explain the balance sheet to them. And, like the rest of our frustrating experience dealing with them, something we never received an apology for.

Terrible - suggest you do not use unless based in Sidcup. Always sending wrong or no information. Very rude solicitors, extremely arrogant. Admin staff very vague. Rang to make a complaint and a report was set up for me and I still after three months not received the report, an apology - nothing.
