Stone King LLP

Conveyancing/property

1 stars

07/01/20 - Reviewed by Rose Cottage

Refused to Complete Conveyance but charged 80% fee

Conveyance aborted following retiring Conveyancer used a junior made basic document mistakes like renumbering then asking questions about paragraphs that no longer existed; replacement left the firm then Head of property, Caroline Taylor, refused to complete Conveyance but tried to charge 80% of the capped fee being £10,800+vat. Incidentally, the initial fee quote was £7,000 then within 2 days increased to £9,000. I then agreed a CAPPED fee at £12,000. After two weeks, Stone King LLP stated they had surpassed to £21,000 their capped fee and my new fee was £20,000. Of course, this conveyance was for a high profile property but nonetheless I allege that Caroline Taylor acted out of envious avarice but nevertheless Stone King LLP are a headache. Reported to SRA.
