I am extremely alarmed. I was told my case was easy by a Senior Partner. After nearly 4 years of waiting for the matter to get to Court, my representatives were unprepared, They stripped away my witnesses, my extended CCCTV coverage, and medical evidence. Thyue insisted that ongoing harassment by the builders working on the property opposite could be reduced to a particular incident on one day (ie they did not want to work on the build-up ie matters where property had been stolen, attempted land theft .starring into my house). A "Police Officer " took a poor copy of the CCTV of the incident on his body cam and wrote a fanciful account favouring the other parties. Vymans did not want to expose him. Instead, I was subjected to an ill-prepared 5-day trial padded out by "legal arguments and the Vymans Barrister dealing with his other case. Nevertheless, the first builder (son of the second) was called to give evidence he told lie after lie (he did not know about the CCTV). Amazingly he was then allowed to go off the weekend. The father arrived to give evidence on Monday and volunteered he had not seen the footage from my security cameras- How did he know it existed? Vhymans did not even spot this. The prosecutor kept changing his allegations as they were knocked over ie I was headbutted in the chest, I moved my head back as he moved his forward, I hit the fathers hand with such force that it knocked a cigarette out of his hand (it was seen in later footage). Vymans barrister was hopeless he did not challenge him and failed to pick the father that had been rehearsed ie he rowed in behind the new version of the son's events which changed from me attacking them to him acting in self-defence. I do not know what he said in the summary because he moved from his area and microphone to address the Jury -I was in the dock and could not hear). I was convicted because according to the prosecutor after the initial section (where I had been head-butted and punched in the head whilst on the ground) I should have turned my back and gone back to my path -where they had dragged me from.
The Jury somehow did not get the message. Vymans barrister was to be fair suffering a personal tragedy and had to attend a funeral during the trial. Why did they not postpone the trial ? It reached a stage where the Judge had to point out aspects of my defence in his summing up -this was the job of the barrister, I wished to appeal the conviction and after a wait of three weeks was summoned to their Office. I was kept there while they twisted claiming they had done a good job I was good etc but they told me I should not appeal . This firm is hopeless. Communication during the build-up was poor and they could not get disclosure. I was legally funded and at one point tried to sack them (failure to get disclosure) but the Court refused to allow me access to another firm. They of course have plenty of work at the moment as the backlog of cases is shunted through at speed sacrificing the rights of defendants.
