If you’re thinking about using Wason Male & Wagland’s Will & Probate, I suggest you look elsewhere.
My Land Registry application to change my Deeds clearly got ‘missed’ by them but Emma didn’t recognise this so it took over a year from when I first engaged WM&W. I had to chase her regularly, she never proactively gave me an update. Even when the elapsed time got to be 2-3 times longer than her own estimate of 3-5 months, she showed no initiative. Completely frustrated, I called LR. They accepted my application was well beyond their timescales, and it would be flagged for urgent review. After 10 days, no contact from Emma so I called LR again. They said my application had been immediately escalated, completed and sent back to WM&W the previous week!! Needless to say, Emma didn’t know LR had responded ‘til I told her. She was however able to produce her Invoice within hours; it’s such a great pity she couldn’t have applied the same energy to my case.
Emma’s inability to spot something had gone wrong with my application, and that she therefore needed to adopt a different approach, means I will be taking my Estate Planning and Will update to another firm. Had I not stepped in and contacted LR, I have absolutely no doubt I would still be waiting for Emma.

Just left very upset at getting a letter from this company purporting to be acting for my freeholders. It was a lengthy letter, which I have kept, proposing to arrange a lease extension to 99 years in exchange for my garden. I was surprised and immediately emailed the person at Male & Wagland to ask for further information. Tried phoning many times but no response. Never heard back from them. Very discourteous and rude. Putting me through stress at a time I could do without it. I am looking for a solicitor to help with my lease extension now but would not consider using this company.

Was managed by a senior partner that was the most arrogant, rude and disrespectful character we have every come across within a client facing role.

We completed the sale on our mother's property. Although our contact was very polite I feel that the level of service was not very good. We received several completion dates these came and went without any contact from our solicitors giving us any updates. On the day of completion, we never received any confirmation that the sale had completed or that the money had been transferred, although our agent had been told it completed. We left several messages during the day and no one returned these. On checking our mother's account later that evening no funds had been transferred. The next day we had to call again and leave messages to no avail. I contacted reception and finally, someone called me. I had to email my requirements, which was confirmation of the sum transferred and statement of accounts. We then had to reconfirm our bank detail before the transaction was made 24 hrs after the sale had completed. Therefore I am sorry but I can not recommend this firm

Never in all my years have I been met with such rudeness. I cannot believe this company are still in business when their attitude to customer service is so exceptionally poor. Frankly disgusted by the manner in which I was spoken to.

I would not recommend this company to anyone. Richard Male has dragged our Grandfather's will out for over 10 years now and still no resolution. The new owners now also avoid all of our emails about the matter, just like if they ignore it long enough it will go away. This company is a joke and by reading everyone else's reviews, it seems like we are not the only ones being stuffed around. I am sure there is more reputable companys around. Don't waste your time here if you want results.

We have been dealing with a matter of a family members will for almost 10 years now and it is still unresolved and they have taken our money due to their incompetence. No reply from them to our booking system or to messages and emails in hope that it will go away. They made a massive mistake and we have to deal with it and take a loss. Do not use this company if you would like a job done properly.

Absolute shambles of a company. Mr Male who I understand is the owner has no clue how to manage relationships with clients, takes weeks to reply to a single email. The stress this joke of a company has caused is difficult to explain. I cannot stress how much people should avoid this company. I just hope people do their due-diligence and read reviews online prior to using the company. They are an absolute disgrace and should not be allowed to provide a legal service as they have no idea what they are doing.

I am relieved to see that this company which has been badly led for many years now has at last been taken over by another practice. My experience with them of late has been an absolute disaster. I could never have recommended them to anyone but maybe now with modern guidance .... who knows ?

What has happened to Male and Wagland? We have lived in Potters Bar for nearly 50 years and always used them very happily for legal advice. 15 months ago I approached them again. I have found some consolation in reading other reviews and realising that I am not the only one to be treated with contempt by this company. It's obviously nothing personal, it's just the way they conduct their business these days. I, too, found it very difficult to speak to anyone and it would take weeks for emails and letters to be answered, if at all. I eventually made a Formal Complaint which, although acknowledged, was not responded to in the time allowed so I referred the matter to the Legal Ombudsman who, after 4 months, managed to squeeze an apology out of Male and Wagland. My advice? Don't touch this company with a barge pole! Very sad! This used to be a good company.

Absolutely appalling. Rude staff, arrogant lawyers and the firm should be closed down. You can never get hold of your lawyer and messages are never passed on. Wasted a lot of time and money using this firm who will be reported for their bad practice

The worst solicitor's practice I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. A rude arrogant company with appalling standards of service. I very much hope to pursue a case against them with the Legal Ombudsman for their poor standards of service.

Crap, just crap. Staff are rude (when you actually get to speak to anyone) and they do not seem to know what the hell they are doing. Outdated and old fashioned and they do not have any idea about modern processes
