Appointed solicitor during a car accident , was first contacted by a lady called Anais , very polite , great rapport and explained everything in excellent details. Any further correspondence was via email or post with each email being very informative , fell short a few times when asking for clarification on points with me having to chase them up before signing something but apart from that very helpful along the way and for the most part I could not fault them (source: google review)

My case took a loooong time to resolve. Didn\'t quite feel HCC was fighting hard for me but just going through the legal motions. There was some communication breakdown with them. The money I won in the end after all the deductions didn\'t turly reflect the injury and stress I went through. Their chosen medic wasn\'t particularly helpful. All in all not good. Love to recommend them but I am afraid I won\'t. (source: google review)

What an absolute liability of a company I put a claim in with them August 2016 it\'s been passed from one person to the next and now after 10 voicemails and sevetal emails since i have today received a call to be told that a decision was made March 2017 we are now in December and to also be told that my file had been put to the side and not even looked at properly. This place is a Mickey mouse company and I suggest you stay well away as the left hand doesn\'t know what the right hand is doing. (source: google review)

If there was such thing as -1 star thats what I would rate This company. HCC is a complete joke! Had a car crash in December 2016 with my mother and a young baby in the car. They have dismissed me as if I\'m not worth their time!! And the complaints team is ridiculous not sympathetic whatsoever actually very sarcastic, which is not needed when people have been in some cases life changing car crashes. (source: google review)

The worst experience I have ever had with a scoliciter. I was dealing with a lady called heather who never answers the phone and rarely gives out any updates. After 11 months I have just been told they don\'t want to take my claim on anymore because of liability. The liability offered from insurers was 50/50. (source: google review)

I have been waiting for a payout for an untraced car claim for over 18 months now, only to be told that I may not receive anything. I only hear from HCC when i contact them and have requested an update every single month. My last email was ignored.this is very unprofessional and is what caused me to write a review.\n\nI also noticed that HCC have responded to another customer below by exposing the outcome of her claim! How unprofessional! And this is actually a breach of DPA.\n\nUpdate: coincidently a week after posting this review; I received a letter (file) stating that my claim was unsuccessful due to discrepancies in my statement. Why did this take 18months? My opinion don’t bother! (source: google review)

Horwich Cohen Coghlan (and in particular Michelle Artus) handled my personal injury claim with a high degree of professionalism and the outcome was even better than I anticipated. Have an ongoing case with HCC solicitors. They were chosen by my insurance company for me, I wasn’t given the choice. \nCommunication is such an issue with this firm. \nMy solicitor Lindsay emailed me late in the day before going on a two week holiday. There’s no out of office email used or alternative contacts provided. I was only aware she was off due to calling and getting her answer phone. Again no further contact is given so if your solicitor is off and you need them for an emergency this is completely impossible. \nEven when the solicitors are in office they do not acknowledge or respond to your email. Lindsay did not get back to me on her return until I chased her. And I replied to an email from Nick three days ago and have had no acknowledgement or response. \nEchoing other reviews the indepent medical was far from professional or reflected my injuries. I have asked for this to be revised yet again.\nIf you feel you want open lines of communication this is not the firm for you, I think this is something that does need looking into by the company. \nSimple adjustments such as out of office emails or providing an alternative contact on answer phones would vastly improve service. Also just an acknowledgement that any email has been received and that you aim to reply within a number of working days. (source: google review)

After reading some of these reviews it looks as though there is a pattern!\n\nI absolutely regret using this solicitor. It\'s was a struggle from the start. \nThe medical organised by HCC was extremely unprofessional. I was sat in a room/corridor discussing my current and past medical history with strangers sat around me in close proximity, not to mention the doctor\'s child who was sat with him during my survey.\n\nMy emails and voice messages are now being ignored and I am now reviewing my options.\n\nPlease carefully consider who you chose to represent you.\n\nUPDATE: Still waiting for action / solid response. Just awful, they are slow, they have taken 4 weeks to send a letter to the defendant, they work at a snail\'s pace and don\'t even respond at times. Deeply unsatified with every aspect of their service. They blame that they are busy and have in the past told me me that they are struggling for staff. Maybe stop taking new business and setting false expectations. Very upset. (source: google review)

Hcc solicitor was representing me and my son through my insurance company. Basil brown was dealing with my case he dealt it with high standard professionalism. He gathered evidence from police and put together a solid case against the opposite side. He reassured me on many times when I wasn\'t sure to carry on. He got me maximum pay out for my case. I had an scooter accident claim and Omar Qureshi did an outstanding job. I was kept informed of every stage of the claim, he answered all my questions and I have an amazing service from him and the rest of the team. Even if I though is going to be taught to win the claim, he did his best and at the end we got a very good compensation and a no fault. I can\'t thank him enough for the good service. HCC has a very poor case management habit and lack efficient systems in communicating with clients. Dealing with them can be very frustrating as nobody in the firm is willing to help or take responsibility for their actions. If the trend continues, there will be many complaints made against them (If not already) with the SRA and action for professional negligence brought.\n\nIncompetent case handlers. Appointed after a non fault RTA. Everything fine dare I say even happy with thier efforts.... that all changed once they recived payment from the third party insurer. \nOver a week after they recived thier payment from the third party im still waiting to recieve my payment fro mtje solicitors. Payment is made by cheque rather than bank transfer which is quicker and easier. After an email conversation i was told the cheque had been sent 3 business days on from recipt of thier payment. 4 business days later still no cheque... I know its not the mail (for a change) as I have been recieving post and parcels from things purchased etc after the date the cheque had alleged to have been sent.\n\nRepeated emails now ignored, I have even emailed the address given in the comments here to try and give the company the chance to respond before posting this up...again ignored.\n\nIt seems once they recieve thier payment and clear it they are happy to leave it and gain interest in it while making the person who is entitled to the payment in the first place wait.\n\nNo communication at all. While i may not be the inly customer I am still a customer and at least deserve to be informed.\n\nI have asked for dates, class the cheque was sent, if it was recorded deliver etc to try and gain information on the whereabouts but no reply.\n\nIt seems once they are paid the customer doesent matter.\n\nNot very professional. I dont like leaving negative comments but I know the company are/ can be quick in replying to me emails as they have before in quick time. (source: google review)

I regret using the solicitor that came via the insurers of a works vehicle I was a passenger in when it was hit by another vehicle from behind while we were stopped.\n\nI should have sought my own legal council, and you should seek other legal advice too.\n\nHCC are slow, it\'s hard to get hold of anyone that knows or cares about your case, they take a lot of information from you but trying to get anything out of them is a blood and stone situation.\n\nThis is the first time in 30 years I have had any dealings with a solicitor or sought to make a claim, i truly hope this isn\'t how they all operate, if it is people would be loosing there mortgages and ending up on the streets daily due to other people\'s negligence, I have lost quite a lot of money as I haven\'t been able to work, and 6 months on I have yet to receive a penny, from lost wages or compensation.\n\nIf you go with HCC you need to be able to cover all your costs and losses for what appears to be the whole term, I am lucky I was able to work at all, what if I had been bed bound? Got referred to this company and the claim process started in January 2019 and just had my cheque cleared in July 2019. Over the moon with the outcome and the time it toke to complete the whole process. My solicitor was Ciaran and he was great from start to finish. Its a year on from my non fault accident and i am still waiting for it to be resolved. I was often ignored by the first solicitor called Tony Atkins i was assigned, who made a lot of mistakes and prolonged progress needlessly. \nI am self employed and tried hard to make a loss of earnings claim after time off i had to take, i gave the solicitors 2 loss of earnings break downs both done by 2 different professional accountants. They never chased them up or even tried to talk to me about the information in them, they just said that they \"didn\'t understand them\" even though they were both very clear and could have been explained with ease by a call to either myself or the accountants. \nEventually i gave up trying to get the loss of earnings as i was putting so much time into trying to get it back that it seemed like false economy.\n\nSince then they have messed up the simple task of sending my check for the injury\'s sustained. they have tried twice now and both times have been a flop prolonging the whole thing even further.\n\nIm sure that if you are looking to make a text book whiplash claim or something like that these guys are probably fine but if you have anything about your circumstances that mean your case is a bit more complicated than look elsewhere! As it goes i am left feeling ripped off and am still awaiting a check that i was supposed to receive over a month ago. (source: google review)

.. it is now 10 months since i started my claim and i have no idea if it is getting anywhere or not .. i had my medical a few months ago, it was at a doctors surgery and i have no complaints about how that went, but i am beginning to feel my case is on the back burner somewhere in the office. This is the reason why i have just checked the reviews, i have read as many as i can and it bothers me to see that lots of others have/are having similar to myself .. no update or proper reassurance, the only communication i have is if i email to ask and will say, i do get a reply, but there is no proper update on any progress and i feel i am left dangling .. i had a nasty injury due to the negligence of someone else and this is the first time i have ever dealt with this sort of thing .. Highly recommended.\n\nAt the start of my situation I can openly say I wasn\'t too confident with how things were going to turn out. I was allocated a solicitor after my original one had left the company. This solicitor has been really good with me as he\'s been patient. My allocated solicitor has expressed a great approach, explained things in a way I\'ve needed and has kept me in the loop. \nI am very grateful for his efforts and I would definitely recommend. Do not use them. You will wait for ages!\n\nI have been with these solicitors since september 2018 and my no fault claim is still on going. \nThe service I am receiving if any is very poor! Ive been contacting them for updates and every time they promised me they will get things moving and next week they will contact me... Shocking service never get an honest update my case has been going on since July 2018 keep been told payment has been sent yet never seems to arrive, even If your insurance company pass you to these jockers please don\'t and go with a accident claim specialist they are snobby and stickup staff who are never willing to chase Dominguez up but after receiving a letter stating how much my claim is worth of £9000 + I\'m only receiving 2000 and they are still taking stupid fees from the amount I\'m to be paid also they will add ATE premium to your payout so you will get less what a load of rubbish this ferm is NOT TO BE TRUSTED PLEASE STAY AWAY (source: google review)

I was appointed these solicitors by my insurance company and my case was dealt with by Michelle Shirley. I honestly have no complaints. Sometimes it was hard to get a telephone response but appreciate I was not the only person being dealt with. Email enquiries were answered promptly and once settled I was paid promptly and without fuss. All in all a realitively painless process. (source: google review)

Worst solicitors I have ever dealt with. Never get any updates I wait months and end up calling them to find out what\'s going on. Nearly 2 years into a simple injury claim. Been for medical check up\'s which was a shambles. They lady dealing with my claim who I shall not name because I not that harsh. She is never ever in the office always on holiday which I\'m guessing is why it\'s taking so long. Customer service is rubbish. No help at all. I van honestly say I hope nobody deals with these useless excuses of solicitors. They don\'t deserve a penny (source: google review)

Absolutely the worst solicitors that you can use, i was appointed these after i had a RTA, Michelle Shirley took on my claim this women provides no infomation, no updates, never in her officer, never replys to emails and if you are one of the lucky ones to recieve a call back she is extremely rude and obnoxious. PLEASE DO NOT USE THESE COWBOYS. They also leave themselves positive reviews. BE WARNED. (source: google review)

Horwich Cohen Coughlan were appointed by my car insurers at the time of a road accident that was not my fault. It was incredibly stressful having to deal with the time taken for the other party to admit fault. Thankfully my appointed representative from HCC gave me not only confidence that things were being dealt with in a completely professional way but he also allayed any fears I had that I would not get the justice I deserved. I wish I could say the same. I have continuously had to ask for updates which then take another month to be delivered. Rarely get any telephone contact. Have no idea what is going on or what the next process is. Had my accident in 2015. It is now 2017 and as far as I am aware the document has yet to reach the other side. As far as my case is concerned, I have no idea where we are at. Will be shortly writing to the Partners as I am absolutely amazed that despite asking for a breakdown of time spent, I have been advised that this is not possible. I have never known any law firm that cannot provide a breakdown of time spent!\n\nHave today [17th May 2017] received an update and the long awaited report.\n\nIn all my years of being a Legal Secretary, I have never seen anything like it. I am not interested in this company\'s apologies. As previously stated my accident occurred in 2015. Loads of information has not been been recorded simply because it was not asked for. Now I am being treated as a criminal because I omitted to relay information that happend 18 months ago. I am sure I am not hte only person to not evern recall what happened a couple of weeks ago much less. I have had ENOUGH. I have tried being patient and am therefore reporting this to the Law Ombudsman as this cannot be right.\n\nGod forbid I have an accident in the future because I will NEVER use any of these so called Injury companes ever again. I am still in pain but it is manageable and I would rather not bother than deall with these people ever again. Now I remember why I left the legal profession!! (source: google review)

I have had a really great and supportive experience with HCC. Omar Qureshi (Litigation Executive) has been looking after me and my case since Summer 2013 (it is now February 2016). Initially I tried a different solicitor but was not impressed with their unprofessional Terms of Business, it put me off. I asked to changed solicitors and was recommended HCC - best move I made! I was lucky enough to have Omar dealing with my case. He spent over half an hour with me on our 1st phone call just to explain his role and as I had never been through the process before, he explained how it all works, what to expect and timescales. I got off the phone confident that Omar and HCC would look after me and have my best interest at heart. Since that phone call Omar has been so extremely supportive, constantly updating me on the costs/fees incurred to date and every question that I have asked over the past 2+ years, Omar has been able to answer. Omar has been extremely patient with me and no request was too much to ask. Throughout this case anything I wanted Omar arranged for me and I have been so happy and grateful for his help. I can\'t explain how many questions I ask whether it was on the phone or by email, Omar has been able to get back to me and reassure me as soon as possible every time so I fully felt his support throughout this claim. Even when he was on annual leave, his colleagues were happy to help me make decisions too. HCC have great people working for them and their customer service is excellent.\nI have thoroughly enjoyed my interaction with Omar. He is informative, efficient and professional. I wish him all the best and can\'t thank him enough for the support he has given me through this hard/stressful time.
