My partner and I used Beeton Edwards for conveyancing when buying our first house. We certainly wouldn't use them again and would advise others to avoid them. From the very start it was almost impossible to get any information out of them. We transferred large sums of money and were having to chase them for days in order to check it had been received. Rebecca was impossible to contact, she didn't reply to emails and whenever we phoned the office she was "busy". We had a running joke that she possibly didn't even exist. When we finally did receive the contracts prior to exchange there were multiple glaring errors (both of our names spelt incorrectly, the wrong purchase price, sellers name spelt wrong). When we contacted Beeton Edwards to point them out they were dismissive, unapologetic and slow to correct the errors. This caused stress as the sellers were getting anxious about exchange, and there was a risk that they could have pulled out. In the end we were told to correct the contract ourselves by hand. The only positive in our experience is that we did eventually complete in time, which given we had a six month window is hardly impressive. Following completion it took months to receive the land registry documents. A thoroughly awful and stressful experience from start to finish. Our estate agent had never experienced poor service like it and was as frustrated as us.

Thank you for your helpful comments. We always welcome feedback as this helps us to improve our service. You state that it was impossible to get information out of us but I have reviewed the file and cannot see that this is the case. All emails from you were responded to within a reasonable period of time. All requests for information were dealt with. We have a full team of conveyancers so it is normal for Rebecca not to have day to day conduct of the file. The errors on the contract were due to a discrepancy on your identity documents and were rectified within 24 hours. Your application for registration was sent to the Land Registry on 31st August and completed and sent to you on 6th September which is good going for the Land Registry. You acknowledge that you completed on time. I am sorry that you were not happy with the service. Conveyancing is a difficult process to control in terms of timing as it is dependent on so many factors beyond our control. Thank you again for taking the time to give us your feedback which we will use to improve our service.

Thank you for the review of this firm! We were considering using this firm to represent us for our purchase as this is our local. Having read your review and spoken to friends who are currently using the firm I think we have had a lucky escape! They are also having the same issues with the partner in question. I must admit the firm’s sassy response to your review filled with bad attitude just highlights your points.
