I wouldn't have thought a solicitor firm could be like this. I found them lacking in morals and empathy.

After being treated with incompetence by the solicitor dealing with my sale, I made a complaint to her supervisor, Zara Wilkins. Rather than apologising, her response was to suggest that I move to a different firm. Later, when I had just suffered a bereavement and needed to go to the funeral etc. and urgently needed an estimate of when my sale would exchange, I asked for help again and received an email which I found rude.
After the sale had been going on for around five months, I contacted Sally Jezard, the head of conveyancing, and she didn't get back to me. The buyer's solicitor was being extremely slow, taking weeks to make small decisions, and I wanted Mrs Jezard to contact someone senior at her firm. I am a solicitor myself and I know that it is common practice for a partner or head of department to step in when a client is being prejudiced.

It was made clear that I just had to work with a solicitor who I didn't trust to be fully competent, and that noone senior would help.

During the sale, I didn't dare to make a complaint or ask if I could work with someone else, as I saw some reviews which said that they get vindictive if you complain about them.

I was supposed to be doing a purchase with them as well, but as work on that was less advanced I asked, during the sale, how much it would cost if I cancelled that. I was told £318 including VAT.
After the sale finished, I made a complaint, and said that I wanted to cancel the purchase, and they sent me a bill around 300% higher than the earlier bill. Luckily, I had kept the email which stated that I would be charged £318, but if I hadn't, they could have tried to force me to pay the higher amount.

I have reported them to the Solicitors Regulatory Authority.

Please do not use this solicitor. They are very slow to respond and never returned my calls. The sale of my property dragged on and left me feeling very depressed. Sally the director was rude when I visited the Eltham branch. Shocking customer service.

Please avoid. Just whatever you do, don't use these guys.
They messed up two property transactions. No client care. The head of commercial property was a complete nightmare to deal with.
Honestly, just avoid. Please please do not use them for any commercial property transactions. I feel so horribly let down by CTW Solicitors.

Very poor all round.
We had a simple sale of a freehold property with only 3 people in the chain.
Conveyancer didn’t seem to know what day of the week it was. I did more chasing than she did. Stated she hadn’t received document from management company that transpired had been in her inbox for 3 weeks. Sent requests to developers using email address that didn’t exist. Forgot to pay my estate agents and tried to overcharge me £200 more than my original quote.
The portal is a joke as it’s seldom updated and even now shows the status as 43% complete when the sale went through 10 days ago.
To top it all I got an email from the conveyancer asking for a positive review.
Unbelievable. Would never use these cowboys again.
However I won’t post name of conveyancer as I feel embarrassed for her total incompetence.

How on earth Hugo Parnell passed any exams to become a Conveyancer is beyond me , what should have been a straight forward transaction turned into a 5 month ordeal , having once worked in conjunction with CTW at Eltham , the Maidstone office is a far cry from what was once a decent firm. Letters were written to the MD Martin Bowers and the business development manager Diane Searle both stone walled us. Their actions speak for themselves , a vile company that cost us thousands in additional stamp duty. What ever you do DO NOT USE CTW, they are quite frankly one of the worst conveyancer firms out there.

This company is rotten to the core, from the top down, their incompetence is breathtaking. Lack of morals, ethics, common decency, adherence to legally required code conduct is non existent and lack of knowledge is beyond belief. Yes if you complain they become vindictive and deliberately obstructive. All you need to know is no company that is legitimate would have these very bad reviews at all branches and do nothing to address it. The fact that any estate agent would take a kickback for recommending them, makes them as culpable as this disgraceful excuse for a legal service. Avoid at all costs if you don't want to lose your sale / purchase, if you don't want to be lied to, hoodwinked, have rudeness and arrogance for months on end. One thing is for sure, their chickens will come home to roost eventually and they will be held to account for their unprofessional conduct, but until then, save yourself the heartache because they have zero shame

We are VERY disappointed with a service from Cook Taylor Woodhouse Solicitors.
Not only we are forever struggling to get hold of her ( phone, email or even meet face to face) but also we are constantly receiving calls from the agent who’s asking to keep on chasing her up for every document there is.
We are a paying customer and feels like Cook Taylor Woodhouse Solicitors is doing us a favour!
We should be communicated in regards to progress regularly but instead we get more information from the property agent who’s keep on telling us to push Cook Taylor Woodhouse Solicitors which delays the whole process!
We will be putting a formal complain to Legal Ombudsman as this is not customer service we have expected to receive!

I cannot emphasise how bad this firm really is. They never answer the phone, do not respond to emails, their lack of procedure and legal knowledge is woeful. Their staff ate inexperienced and rude. If you dare to speak up against the service, they appear to make is personal and become more obstructive. They have no empathy or humanity, you are not a person you are merely another file to them. For the sake of your sanity avoid like the plague !

Natalie collins has no clue what this business is all about. No communication and when asked to explain various terms, could not be bothered. When enquired at their location in Dartford, i have been told this is how things are being done in this country. For someone who in a tax payer here, this answer is totally unacceptable, not to mention it is not a pro bono service. Will not recomend, never would use again either despite being recommended by our estate agent.
