The service was excellent. The staff are helpful, knowledgeable and efficient. The firm had moved to a different venue from when I last went to Oliver Fisher and everything was well organised ,comfortable and clean.
I appreciated being able to ask questions ,as at the first appointment 13 days before, and able to talk with someone whom I fully trust from my past and current dealings.
Updating my will cost £500 + £100 vat = £600

I recently bought a small house in Liverpool. Gauri Joshi was calm, clear and efficient throughout the process as well as being polite and easy to deal with. She provided me with good sensible advice throughout. The charge of £850 plus VAT was very reasonable indeed. I would not hesitate to recommend her.

Deborah Mantell did the conveyancing for my first time purchase and I couldn't recommend her highly enough! She made the whole process very smooth and was extremely thorough and diligent with her enquiries and the information she sent over.

She was also very responsive, helpful and patient with the many queries I had, as I'm new to the property purchasing process.

Overall, Deborah and the firm did a fantastic job and I will absolutely be using them again, including recommending them to friends who might be purchasing in the future.

So I contacted the firm, looking for a solicitor to instruct on a particular matter.

The lawyer I spoke to was rude, arrogant, unhelpful, argumentative and borderline abusive. It was totally bizarre.

Every other law firm I contacted were polite and helpful - as you would expect. I went on to find a truly excellent firm of solicitors instead.

Slight difficulty for people less agile accessing the lifts, this was our only concern.

If you are reading this post, then like I was you in a postion where you are searching for a solicitor who you can trust to take care of your affairs and will be seeking the views of others who can verify. Its often difficult to know where to begin and where to go and fundamentally who to trust. Having had bad experiences with solicitiors in the past, I wasnt sure and lacked trust. Having read good reviews, I chose Oliver Fisher and I wasnt disappointed. I was faced with a housing eviction and had experienced significent disrepair. Avikar Singh and Olivia oversaw my case and was able to stop the eviction as well as obtain a court order to enforce the repairs, as well as obtain compensation...all this was done under legal aid. Despite this I was never made to feel like i was second class. the service was exceptional and thier comitment and dedication to obtaining a postive outcome was beyond expectation. They truly are wonderful determined team, who are highly skilled, and exercise due dilligence in thier work, but also adopt an essence of compassion for those who are vunerable and in need. Words can not express my gratitude for what they have done but i want to share my views with others who may be in a postion of uncertainty of where to turn and what to do...they are your your one stop shop. 1st class service, 1st class solicitors, 1st class surroundings...1st class results! We used Oliver Fisher for conveyancing services for our property purchase in summer 2020. Their services are excellent value. All members of staff were courteous, professional, and efficient. It felt like the process was under control at all times, even at tricky moments when we were worried. Deborah worked hard to make sure everything went smoothly. Oliver Fisher provide first class service. My solicitor Santosh Kumar and her team are amazing to work with. They are patient, understanding, empathetic but work efficiently and are honest and reliable. They worked tirelessly on my case that was international child abduction and very complex.I was told on the 14th/08/20 that the American court clerks did not give them access to my case file due to payments, and the USA clerks did not reply to my solicitors constant emails.My previous solicitor in the USA had left the firm too which did not help in my case in England. However, Santosh and her team of staff did not give up on me. They worked so hard with the limited resources from USA that I provided them.I know, they are a brilliant firm and I trust their credibility in handling the most complex international and Jurisdiction matters. I strongly recommend them.

My son had an offer on a property accepted shortly before the Covid-19 shut down. Even with all the problems this caused, Deborah Mantell kept the process moving and the purchase went through without any significant delay. Although most staff were working from home, their office remained open for delivery of important documents and they ensured that their clients were not disadvantaged in any way because of the social distancing requirements. Their fee structure is upfront and clear, communications prompt and efficient. I can happily recommend, and will definitely be using them again.

Wet bad experience. I would really recommend not to take them on. They were simply very slow at answering anything and unwilling to answer questions. If you think you want advise and have someone answering quickly and advising you this is not the one. I should have read reviews before as they are clearly not all positives. They simply did not care. Some emails took close to 2 weeks to get an answer. We changed sollicitor and next experience was cheaper and very effective.

It was a relatively complex transaction which, amongst other issues, involved getting the consent of The Cadogan Estate. Ali handled matters with great patience and kept me well informed. I was appalled by the service received by Oliver Fisher Solicitors.

I was in need for legal help in relation to an issue with my tenants. The person advising me was called Avikar Singh. First of all, he was highly arrogant. He was not able to answer my questions clearly and in normal laymen's terms. He deliberately used overly sophisticated vocabulary to disguise his lack of knowledge and preparation.

He allegedly came up with a solution to my problem. When I did a quick google search, however, it turned out that his advised was completely wrong. When I confronted him about this, he admitted that his advice was actually factually wrong and that he had misinterpreted the law.

I want my money back. What a waste.

Jo Shortland has just acted for me in my divorce. I was very keen to leave my our marriage with relations with my former wife in as good a state as possible. I found Oliver Fisher by googling 'sympathetic divorce lawyers'. Jo is exactly that. She understood my situation perfectly from the outset and handled the entire process in such a way that we have indeed parted on the best terms possible. Jo is a great support and her advice was spot on. Indeed had I not followed it I think the outcome might have been very different. If you want to get through this dreadful process with as little pain and rancour as possible then you should speak to Jo. I recommend her very highly indeed.

Required a lease extension. Efficient service. Responded quickly to emails. Arranged meetings promptly. Fees seemed reasonable although I have limited experience to compare. 4 stars rather than 5 as sometimes I was unaware if the other party were being chased up or not but overall very satisfied and would use again.

We sought advice from Arman Khosravi from Oliver Fisher on an Airbnb matter. Having moved into a share of freehold flat, it was clear that our neighbours were against us renting out our flat on Airbnb. They made many attempts to stop us, and over one particular weekend the matter was escalated to a level where I felt we need legal advice. My partner researched solicitors who seemed to have had Airbnb experience and I wrote e-mails to five of them. On the Monday, Arman’s response was the most concise and actionable. By 4pm Monday, he had reviewed our case and provided us sound advice which resulted in our neighbours backing down immediately. And his fees were very reasonable. I would strongly recommend Arman for assistance in any disputes or issues of this nature.

Needless to say, we did not go back for a follow up appointment. I will never use this solicitor again.

I used Oliver fisher for a purchase of a property they were efficient in sending me the client documentation however when I received legal documents for the purchase of the property they spelt my name three different ways. I had to ask them three times to change my name in the end I was told I re write it myself. Such basic skill they were unable to manage. In the end I had to leave them and go elsewhere they did not give me much hope that they would complete the purchase without any fault.

I highly recommend Ali. He has helped me with the legal work on two purchases (one aborted and one that recently completed) and has been extremely effective throughout. He is very thorough and has given me some excellent advice on a couple of tricky matters. He is very good at chasing up other solicitors and pushed my purchase through very quickly (helping me compete before the new tax regime came in). At all times he was very communicative and I was always fully aware of what was happening. I have already recommended him to friends not only for his professionalism but also because he is easy to speak to (both in terms of clear communication and also his availability) and a calm, wise, friendly presence - just what I need in a lawyer!

We used Oliver Fisher partly because we had used them before for a lease extension, but mainly because our estate agent recommended Alireza as someone who would really push things along: he was right. We completed quickly, despite having to overcome a few difficulties; communication from him was excellent and clear; and we always felt he was on top of things.
Fees were very reasonable in my experience.

Instructed Oliver fisher solicitors for conveyancing on 19 Oct and completed 27 Nov, approx weeks for a leasehold apartment, this is the fastest completion of a leasehold property you can get.

Alireza has been excellent from the start, called me 6pm on the first day of the instruction to confirm my details etc. Since then he communicated very well, responded to my emails promptly.

I would certainly use Oliver fisher services in the future and would also recommend others too.

We used Oliver Fisher for sale and purchase conveyancing earlier this year (2015).
We chose Oliver Fisher on the basis of them being in London and therefore fairly accessible and of the several firms I got quotes form they weren’t the cheapest, but they weren’t the most expensive either.
Generally, our appointed solicitor was very slow at getting anything done, although we did get there in the end. At the time I likened it to getting a moody teenager to do their homework – always at the very last minute, and always to the very minimum amount and standard required. On one occasion, he sent a letter containing some queries to our buyers solicitor, and waited 6 weeks for a response, during which time he claimed to have attempted to call them only “a couple of times”.
Our biggest gripe with Oliver Fishers was that our house developer had discounted the price of our house subject to a completion deadline, which wasn’t met. They then returned the house to its original price and threatened to put it back on the market. Our solicitor did nothing, and at the time, we thought that there wasn’t much which could be done – after all, it was the developer’s prerogative to change the price as contractually agreed at reservation. Skip forward a couple of months and in our first conversation with some new neighbours, and it turns out that the developer tried the same thing with them, only this time their solicitor fought for them and succeeded in preventing the house price being increased as our was. So – our solicitor effectively cost us £10,000 through his inaction.
Now – I have to say that the delay was only partly his fault – our buyers and their solicitor were equally lethargic.
He regularly made mistakes when I was talking to him – forgetting where we were moving to, when, how much the sale & purchase prices were, which bank we were using, various other details of our transactions etc
Our solicitor’s response when I told him that he was taking too long to get things done was that he had over 60 cases to work through. I think that says it all really, and if he’s that overloaded, I suggest you do everyone a favour, including him, and use someone else.

My father used this firm recently with regards to the lease for his commercial property and we were very impressed with Mr Conway who dealt with the case. He was very fast in his correspondence with us and helped to resolve the matter in the shortest possible time with a high level of professionalism. His colleague, Michael Christopher, also dealt with another aspect of our matter and he was also very prompt in his communications with us and aided in resolving a matter which has been ongoing for the past 26 months and which our previous solicitor could simply not handle.

I telephoned Oliver Fisher Solicitors, for advice pertaining to problems with an old Landlord.
Once of the solicitors - Gabrielle - gave me very comprehensive advice as to how to proceed, quoting the relevant legislation, but in a very accessible manner. They say that they offer 30-minutes of free advice but once it became clear that my matter was only for the small claims court, the man I was speaking to more or less put the phone down on me. Could not have been more rude and unhelpful - obviously if it wasn't going to line his pockets he couldn't have been less interested, it felt as if I was keeping him from lunch! A shockingly unpleasant experience.
