So I contacted the firm, looking for a solicitor to instruct on a particular matter.

The lawyer I spoke to was rude, arrogant, unhelpful, argumentative and borderline abusive. It was totally bizarre.

Every other law firm I contacted were polite and helpful - as you would expect. I went on to find a truly excellent firm of solicitors instead.

Wet bad experience. I would really recommend not to take them on. They were simply very slow at answering anything and unwilling to answer questions. If you think you want advise and have someone answering quickly and advising you this is not the one. I should have read reviews before as they are clearly not all positives. They simply did not care. Some emails took close to 2 weeks to get an answer. We changed sollicitor and next experience was cheaper and very effective.

I was appalled by the service received by Oliver Fisher Solicitors.

I was in need for legal help in relation to an issue with my tenants. The person advising me was called Avikar Singh. First of all, he was highly arrogant. He was not able to answer my questions clearly and in normal laymen's terms. He deliberately used overly sophisticated vocabulary to disguise his lack of knowledge and preparation.

He allegedly came up with a solution to my problem. When I did a quick google search, however, it turned out that his advised was completely wrong. When I confronted him about this, he admitted that his advice was actually factually wrong and that he had misinterpreted the law.

I want my money back. What a waste.

I am sorry to hear about your experience with one of our solicitors.

Having spoken with the solicitor who dealt with your consultation, he has informed me that the correct advice had been given to you prior to the end of your initial meeting whilst considering the standards of the borough in which your property was located. Following this advice, clear steps were discussed on what was required going forward.

Mr Singh had advised that he had in fact made reference to other potential actions which you were not aware of prior to your consultation, this was followed up in a client care letter and various emails clarifying your discussions in the initial meeting.

I understand that you had requested further advice from Mr. Singh after utilising aspects of his initial advice on what he found were the realistic next steps to undertake in your matter. It is my further understanding that you were unable to come to an agreement as to fees in relation to this.

Unfortunately, the first consultation is only for giving initial advice. We endeavour to do our best to ensure there is transparency as to costs with clients relative to the number of hours required to undertake the work, however we are unable to advise further without structuring a retainer accordingly.

I wish you all the best going forward and do hope that matters with your tenants have been resolved.

while in the depths of despair over housing matters, we consulted with Gabrielle at Oliver Fisher and found her to be very unsympathetic, cold, harsh and she did not listen to any of our concerns. Needless to say, we did not go back for a follow up appointment. I will never use this solicitor again.

I used Oliver fisher for a purchase of a property they were efficient in sending me the client documentation however when I received legal documents for the purchase of the property they spelt my name three different ways. I had to ask them three times to change my name in the end I was told I re write it myself. Such basic skill they were unable to manage. In the end I had to leave them and go elsewhere they did not give me much hope that they would complete the purchase without any fault.

Don't care about clients. Just what they can get out of you. Go somewhere else.

They say that they offer 30-minutes of free advice but once it became clear that my matter was only for the small claims court, the man I was speaking to more or less put the phone down on me. Could not have been more rude and unhelpful - obviously if it wasn't going to line his pockets he couldn't have been less interested, it felt as if I was keeping him from lunch! A shockingly unpleasant experience.

This review is simply not fair. The potential client rang me and asked for advice. I told him his claim was below £5,000.00 and therefore a "small-claim" & he would be unable to recover his solicitors costs. When the potential client heard this and my hourly charging rate he decided not to proceed. That is probably the correct way to proceed. I did not charge for this advice.
