If I could give no stars I would, Garner Canning are a company to avoid at all costs was my review, however thankfully this company has been shut down and no longer practices.

Horrific firm. Don’t ever use them. They are currently holding my retention money from the sale of my flat over a year ago and no one responds to their phones or emails. I’ve had to get in touch with the Legal Ombudsman to try and get my money back.

The problem with this company is the level of competence of their personnel and rudeness. We were left in the dark with our case all the time - I do not understand why they have adopted a portal to update their activity if they do not use it properly. At some point, the solicitor left the company and despite several chasing a replacement was not identified. The telephone number of the office is constantly engaged and when calling direct lines they hang up the phone twice. The solicitor falling our case had also shown in several occasions that she was not really checking my communication or information given. Also, when someone went on leave nobody was covering for absences so a lot of time was wasted to wait for people to return from constant holidays.
Due to these frustrations and rude communication, we decided to change solicitor company and have notified termination of instruction - this was the best decision ever! The new solicitor has done in one week more than what Garner Canning has done in 6 weeks.

Absolutely terrible. Stay well clear. Awful treatment.
No communication, no progress, no response. They have a case of two properties that has taken them so far 7 months and they are still not finished. I asked to remove the case and go to a different solicitor and they just ignore me. It has affected my mental health and is causing great stress. They are awful. I share this to warn other off this company. TERRIBLE

Worst service ever. No communication, even to this day 6 months later , no documents have been sent to the management company for transfer of ownership!!!!
ignores emails... No pro-activeness to keep client updated, would never ever recommend this company. They use their secretary to communicate for them, i spoke to my conveyancer once!! if you're going to use a conveyancing company - avoid this one !!!!!!!!

Been advised for over 2 weeks that documents are being drafted and the documents available last tuesday. Received a message today after documents chased up that Pauline is on holiday. Escalated to Terry Mills who doesn't seem to care and await for Pauline to return from leave, no date when Pauline back from holidays. Another delay after not starting the documents when requested and agreed on 1 july.

In 2016 when I bought my home I found Garner Canning generally poor at keeping in touch and I was doing most of the chasing. It wasn’t until these past few months when attempting to sell my house, have I realised how bad they actually are. My house has a single storey extension not requiring planning permission, but apparently needed to be signed off by building control. As a first time buy, I wasn’t aware of these legalities (That’s what I pay a conveyancer for). My buyers more attentive solicitor has realised this building control certificate doesn’t exist, and now I’m having all sorts of headaches trying to sort this out in order to sell my house and is costing me hundreds of pounds and weeks of delays. Avoid using this firm, they are unprofessional and do not do the basics what they are paid to.

My son is in the process of buying his own flat and Garner and Canning are doing the conveyancing or supposed to be. he has had one convocation with a Mr Mohammed Kasujee and agreed a price etc...
Half the work has been done, but then everything has stopped...
My son has tried contacting Mohammed via email and phone, asking for an update but nothing... its been a month now.. 10 phone calls and 6 begging emails to please answer.. the estate agent has tried too.
think we are going to give up...

Would definitely not reccomend, even to my worst enemy. There is no service in the first place to even comment on, absolutely disgusting. For a start they dont even answer the phone or come down to see you when you visit the office... I still wonder if the solicitor even existed!!!!

Garner Canning...No one is leaving malicious reviews. These are genuine frustrations!
You are my buyers, buyers solicitor and your company has been the ones to hold up the our house sales. A process that should have taken 3 months, we’re now almost into the 6th month and still nowhere near the end. Everyone has been ready for weeks except for things needed from your end. Every document from your end has taken inordinate amounts of time to reach their destination, slowing the process. The other solicitors in this process have acted quickly and professionally. My solicitor has been unable to contact you by any method. Now we’re nearing completion you request a management pack document. A document that should have been requested at the outset! You have sat on this document for weeks without even looking at them. When you finally looked at it you say there are amendments to be made, so the document is now ping ponging back and forward between solicitors! Stop taking on more work when you can’t deal with the workload you have.
