I have dealt with Spicketts for a couple of years and I find them brilliant.
I have sold and purchased property’s with them and they are very efficient and nothing is to much trouble.

John Allison was the man used by our purchaser. He was rude to everyone who spoke to him, we were purchasing a new build and took a substantial drop on our asking price on the proviso we worked really fast at getting the sale through. Mr Allison would make comments like “don’t hold a gun to me head” and “I’m not working to your ridiculous timelines”. Subsequently, we lost the house we were buying in the February. The company we were buying from refused to give us any money back so we lost approximately £7k, including the our solicitors costs for the house we lost. We then had to start again, in the end our buyers mortgage offer was running out so we had to move out of our home and are now “sofa surfing”. There were two people in the chain, us and our buyer, that was it. They were buying our property to rent out.
I don’t know about this company as a whole but this man has literally cost us thousands.
Appealed I have to put any star rating on here! 1 star is 1 too many!

cant really say i've had much of a service, mostly i'm expected to baby them, sent them bank statements but couldnt print them so i had to drop them off, Charge deeds I had not properly signed but followed the instructions in the letter they sent me, try ringing the office but very rarely get a answer, emailed me constantly about getting documents certified even though i replied a month before stating they are from the banking app and the branch does not offer certification.

They say that buying a house is stressful, id say dealing with solicitors is stressful! Would not recommend.

The service I had was prompt and I was always kept informed at every stage with what felt like a personal service from the polite and friendly staff. The company were aware that I needed to complete all the different aspects of selling the house as quickly as possible and they did their best to achieve this for me. I would, therefore, certainly recommend them.

Excellent service, Sharon was my solicitor and explained things to me very patiently and clearly, followed up the seller and created some extra things for safety during Coronavirus. As a 1st time buyer I strongly recommend. This was a smooth process.

Tracey Murphy was excellent highly recomend her for family law. Saved me coming back to court for the 3rd time I now have a healthy relationship with my son without his mother controling when I see him and pulling the strings I now dont have to have any contact with his mother after years of emotional abuse thanks to the represtentation from Tracey.

Sharon was very thorough and timely in delivering all her work. Everything arrived with clear guidance on what to do. Service was well
priced compared to say Cardiff solicitors who do the same work.

What made Sharon so good was when there was a problem she dealt with it instantaneously and more importantly got the other sides to do something about it.

I have been absolutely delighted with the service I received by both Lisa & Sam. They have given me the confidence to say not all solicitors give poor value for money, they have certainly earnt their wages! They have been professional but always personable and allowed me the time to explain points when I wasn’t sure of legal jargon. I have already passed their details on to my daughter who is using Sam at present, that surely shows what confidence I have in these girls.

Dreadful service. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Weeks of delays when both the buyer and vendor were chain free. Impossible to get hold of and their response times are an absolute joke.

Excellent service; fast and efficient and reasonably priced. Matthew Francis of the Pontypridd branch, Spicketts Battrick was great, he kept me well informed and I found it easy to gain contact with him. I would certainly use the firm again and would recommend to others.

This was a difficult property to sell and the buyers' solicitors were asking a lot of specific and detailed questions that had to be dealt with. Carys Davies did an excellent job of handling it all for me with a successful outcome.

The service I have received from this company is appalling. They were appointed on 17th September 2018 to deal with the sale of my late mothers property. Almost 8 months on contracts have not been exchanged or a completion date confirmed. During this time I have sent over 40 e mails, the majority of which I have not received a response to. There was an issue with a lease referred to on the title deeds of the property which I have resolved with land registry myself,due to ongoing delays. In desperation I sent a formal letter of complaint to them on Monday which they haven’t even had the courtesy to acknowledge. I have been left with no alternative but to refer to the ombudsman. Their delays have caused further upset to my family and I following my mothers death which prompted the sale.

A word of advice: if you are thinking of using this firm, don't! It is the worst firm of solicitors I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. They took ages to accomplish a bog standard legal task, they never answered or returned our phone calls and they never replied to our emails. It was impossible to feel that they had our best interests at heart. Appalling.

I would highly recommend using Spicketts Battrick! My conveyancer Carys Davies and her assistant Michaela Hallett made the process as hassle free as possible. They were always available to answer my queries and were very helpful over all. Cannot fault them and would definitely use them again.

Following my father's admission to a nursing home last year Sharon Fitzpatrick arranged my Power of Attorney and recent sale of his property. Both were completed speedily. I was kept informed of progress and without any legal jargon.
At a stressful time both Sharon and secretary Fran were very friendly and for this I was most grateful as my head was elsewhere.
I would not hesitate to use again.

It was the second time I'd used Spicketts Battrick for conveyancing, and I had the pleasure of dealing with Carys on both occasions. She was efficient, professional, easy to contact and did an accurate and speedy job on both house purchases. I will be using them again.

Do not use this firm, slow, rude, won't answer questions via email, they all take there lunch together so good luck getting in touch via phone.
Claim to send things out in the post but good luck getting them.

We were buying a property and the seller used these solicitors. They were terrible. They tried to put pressure on us to complete even though all the paperwork was not inplace and they did not responded to our solicitors queries or supplied the correct documentation. It proved to be a very stressful experience for what should have been a very straight forward sale. I would not reccomend using these solicitors if you are buying or selling a property.

If I could give no stars I would.They sent letters to an empty house I was selling even though they had my address,they asked for proof of id when I had visited the office and they had photocopied my passport and bank details,they failed to inform me that the sale had been completed and as far as I am concerned would not recommend them to even my worst enemy.Deal with them at your peril.

I cant find lower star rating than one sonhad to give one star. Friend of mine is selling his property and his buyer has taken this solicitor. Awfully slow, asking questions after 2 months of searches, not answering phone calls, replying emails after days and delaying the whole process. I bought property and it went smoothly and got keys in 8 weeks. I had to go through lots of paperwork but solicitor was well on ball but my friend is even thinking to cancel the sale just this solicitor is giving him headache. When i saw reviews and their reply against each review ,its awful that they copied and pasted same answer to all reviews. Would highly suggest all people in conveyancing matters that please find solicitor with high rating. They might cost more but will be headache free service.

Cheap and rubbish. Mistakes, arrogance, rude service, slow to act and now ignoring my complaint to them. John Allison is the worst solicitor I have dealt with. He lied to me repeatedly about the mistakes they made and the reasons for delays.

Find another solicitor, constantly leaving messages as can't get to speak to anyone when I call. Sitting on enquiries for a week which is holding up my sale, this could been sorted with one phone call. Poor service

If I could give zero stars I would. Can't keep track of payments made, all receipts are inaccurate. Can't say whether a notice has been served or not, after 4 weeks. Does not respond to emails unless pressured to.

Absolutely appalling - DO NOT USE! These are my buyers' conveyance - in a chain of just 3 properties, where 1 property is empty bbc and 1 is a first time buyer we are still nowhere near exchange after 14 weeks. They will not respond to my conveyance, keep telling my EA they haven't received everything from my side when I know that the same info has been sent 4 times now. They had the cheek to send a snotty email to my EA because they are being chased so much. They didn't check my buyers' mortgage paperwork for ages and when they did, it had an incorrect address - they also failed to order a mining search. My vendor has now put her property back on the market as she's so fed up! We gave them warning that the chain was in danger of collapsing due to them...they don't give a stuff....the SO called conveyance dealing with it all has now gone on holiday!!!! I am so close to just pulling the plug but I'll lose so much money in wasted fees. Hate them for all this stress caused my their inefficient, lazy, incompetent staff. They are a disgrace to the profession and should have their licence pulled.

Painful experience culminating in John Allison sending back my passport six months after I sent it to him. I assumed it was lost in the post so I had to buy another one. He failed to answer my emails requesting payment.
Rubbish solicitors.

I am using them to sell and buy property. It has taken 3 months already and still no end in sight. I definitely would not recommend them. I'm stressed to breaking points. My buyer is still waiting and that has been over 4 months now. This firm in my opinion is hopeless. Everything is slow with them.

Sarah Farrell has caused me great stress in purchasing a house . The house was empty , the vendor used Sarah Farrell. I had to do most of the work through Peter Alan myself as on the day of completion Sarah realised that she didn't have the mortgage detail for the property

Worst experience trying to purchase a property using Sarah Farrell. Avoid. I left a review on another website immediately after the debacle that was our house purchase and today received an email stating that they wanted the review removed under Section 5 of the Defamation Acr. Honestly, I've never known a firm like it. As well as being appallingly bad, it would appear that they are also bullies. Avoid.

I took the advice of Fox and Sons to use Spicketts and Battrick and that was my biggest regret!

Your calls are hardly answered. When you do get to leave a message and say Call me back, don’t hold your breath.....

I know people who sold their house a month after us and have already moved in. We have yet to even exchange contracts. Even the senior partner is shocking. No called are ever returned.

Spare yourself the tread and not use this appalling firm. They are selling a non-existent Service. Wish there was something I could do about if!

we used this Solicitors as recommended by our Estate Agents as they have ties with them,
we were told to book a van for the completion day when only 3 out of the 4 parties were ready to proceed !!
on their say we paid a deposit of £400 for a removal van and lost £200 ,we got the other £200 back from the estate agent who felt embarased by the whole situation, they denied it all and the director wasn't interested
in our loss , use at your own peril!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't had a worse experience in my life with a solicitor. I CAN NOT recommend these solicitors

They took TWICE as long to sell the same flat than it took when bought 6 months earlier, both simple no chain, cash buyers. The only difference was the solicitors!

They are unresponsive, did not reply to questions within their own published promised timescales.

I had to do most of the chasing for them, as they seemed incapable of picking up a phone or sending an email, seemed to still be working in the 19th century, sending letters and waiting for a response, never wondering why they hadn't.

My recommendation is to use someone/anyone else
