I have worked with many law firms in the past and have repeatedly used Tolhurst Fisher for personal matters. They are always polite, accessible, responsive and helpful, and technically "spot-on". The most recent work undertaken was charged on budget (of around £2,500) and involved members of the property team releasing one, and creating another private legal charge and an unsecured loan note, and working alongside other law firms to process documents and cash flows with extensive interactions. I would certainly recommend this firm to others.

The service we received from Nathaniel during our house purchase was outstanding. He was thorough, and proactive. He required no prompting and we always felt assured and confident in his work. He maintained brilliant communication throughout the process and updated us at every point. This put our minds well at rest that the job was being done to a high standard. In comparison to other firms we have dealt with, Tolhurst Fisher represented excellent value for money. I would highly recommend Nathaniel for any conveyance or property needs.

I was recommended to speak to Tolhurst Fisher simply through word of mouth having asked social media connections for recommendations. With no prior engagement with solicitors I approached multiple firms and Tolhurst Fisher was immediately the most informative, responsive and professional in those early exchanges.

Having instructed them to help make amendments to my lease, Nathaniel John was our point of contact. He was on hand and attentive throughout, replied to emails alarmingly quickly sometimes and answered and explained any queries we had incredibly clearly. There were hold ups with the process which Nathaniel went out of his way to chase third parties about and ultimately we have completed on our legal matter with as little stress as could have been asked for.

Friendly, helpful & efficient handling of my divorce at a reasonable cost.
I was kept informed of the progress at all times & any queries were dealt with promptly.
I have also used this firm for conveyancing matters on several occasions & the service has been equally impressive.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Tolhurst Fisher.

Excellent service for estate and accompanying house sale. TF provided efficient, prompt, courteous, skilled advocacy with minimal stress. Their fees are reasonable and they were not fazed bu having to do this from abroad (Canada). I would use them again without hesitation. Thank you very much for making what could have been a nightmare for our family very straightforward.

Had the occasion to use the services of the Wills and Probate department at Tolhurst Fisher. The service was excellent with both a very knowledgeable solicitor and personal secretary support at a reasonable cost for services provided. Would highly recommend the firm and would personally use their services again.

Nathaniel dealt with deeds of variation for use and was friendly, professional, patient and prioritised our best interests at all times.

Nathaniel's knowledge and professionalism was especially appreciated where there was conflict between parties, and I believe he achieved the best possible outcome for us.

Recently my wife and I filed for planning permission for an extension to our house. During the process, Nathaniel was extremely helpful on discussing various potential issues we could face including the need for a party wall agreement, and accessibility to our garden via the back onto a public road. We have not gone through a project like this before so naturally we were nervous about potential pitfalls, but we felt reassured and confident to move forward following discussions with Nathaniel. We can now look forward to the building work to begin in the New Year thanks to the professional advice we received. We are extremely grateful and most certainly would recommend and advising people to approach Nathaniel should they need help in the future.

Do not touch this firm with a barge pole. Worst service ever. Legal advice poor. Use of the English language abysmal. Tie you in to all sorts of services you don't need. Conveyancing solicitor was actually abusive on the phone even though I was the client.

I would definitely recommend Tolhurst Fisher, they undertook a lease extension with me. I can't say they would have been the cheapest option, however, before I engaged them they were very knowledgeable and clear about the issues that would arise with the freeholder. How they would take as long as possible and be as difficult as possible - this all happened but with the prior warning I did not expect a quick and cheap solution. The valuer they used was excellent and managed to negotiate the freeholders charge of the extension lower than expected. He also continued to work hard on my case when the freeholder tried to say that they had not agreed a price (even though we had it in writing). There were no false promises - they said it would take a year and it did. During the process they found an issue with my lease which the solicitor used for the purchase of my property had not noticed, they advised clearly on all the options and finally and most importantly they advised how I should contact my previous solicitor to ensure they correct the error they made.
